Burgers Go Gourmet

EVEN FINE DINING RESTAURANTS are reviving interest in hamburgers by offering slider plates and gourmet burger offerings that are focused on quality rather than quantity. Corner Brook’s Bay of Islands Bistro takes the slider concept to culinary ecstasy with its Duck Sliders topped with grainy mustard and red onion jam. There is even an option of adding the ultimate in decadent toppings; foie gras. Bay of Islands Bistro’s version of sliders offers a taste of luxurious international flavours.
 
In St. John’s, Aqua restaurant offers a taste of Newfoundland. Its Char Grilled Caribou Burger topped with, amongst other things, pickled jalapenos and spicy mustard mayo is stacked with a combination of local flavours and original toppings.
